Intel India, the Chip Making Giant to Contribute to the “Digital India” Initiative
The chip making giant, Intel India, will be contributing extensively to the "Digital India" initiative by infusing technology into the country's educational ecosystem. This initiative was launched yesterday, at an event jointly organised by Intel and the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The initiative will strengthen the use of technology by building end-to-end solutions for India's education sector and by collaborating with leading device manufacturers, education digital content providers & publishers and education solution providers.
"The initiative to create a comprehensive ecosystem is an endeavor to establish an accessible digital infrastructure that enables affordable solutions," Debjani Ghosh, managing director of Intel South Asia, said in a statement.
The "Intel Pentium Processor A1020" will power devices designed for running education applications. This processor is specially built to permit power savings for use in in semi-urban and rural India. Intel will deliver management solutions for schools & classrooms, and will provide student information systems.
