Tribal Language Textbooks Soon to be Available in Central E-Library
Class 1 and 2 students can make avail of textbooks in Jharkhand’s tribal languages, as they will soon be made available on the Central Government’s e-library platform, according to reports from the Jharkhand’s School Education And Literacy Department. Jharkhand’s 3.29 crore population, around 26% are constituted by the tribals.
This e-library, which was launched under the Centre’s Digital India Mission, already has NCERT and CBSE textbooks for students from classes 1 to 12. The motive behind setting up the e-library was to ensure the availability of digitised textbooks for the school students.
“We have already sent soft copies of Jharkhand-specific books to the website coordinator. Soon, we will send soft copies of our JCERT (Jharkhand Council of Education Research and Training) books as well,” said State School Education And Literacy Secretary, Aradhana Patnaik.
The textbooks will be made available under the ‘Regional books for children’ category on the website, according to an official from the School Education and Literacy Department.GD Star Rating
