14 Year Old Girl to Represent India at The Wimbledon


Tanisha Kashyap, a 14 year old Assamese girl will become the first Assamese to represent india at the Wimbledon u-14 tournament that would be held in August this year.

“I am more than delighted to represent my country. It is a dream come true. I will give it my best to shine for my country in Wimbledon” said Tanisha

this teenage tennis prodigy has more than 12 junior titles already to her name. It includes one national championship as well.

The selections for this tournament was held as different phases across 4 Indian cities – Hyderabad, indore, Mumbai and Delhi. Tanisha won the final selections held at Kolkata. She had defeated Sharannya Gaware 6-3, 6-7(4), 6-2.

She will be accompanied by Dev V Javia of Gujarat, who is competing in the under-14 men's division.
