Rajendra Pawar, Chairman NIIT, announced a partnership between NIIT, a global leader in skills and talent development, and edX, the non-profit global leader in online learning co-founded by Harvard University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) yesterday, that will redefine online education in India.
The mission will provide next generation Blended Learning MOOC model that will allow "high-impact" learning experiences. The model will be superior to the core MOOC content and will give a more engaging and live interactive experience.

The partnership can offer futuristic talent development programs by combining the live synchronous delivery capability and on-ground student servicing capability of NIIT with the MOOCs (Massive Open Online Course) provided by edX.
