Google Bids Farewell to APJ

As a nation mourns the passing of its “missile man” Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, the internet search engine giant Google has paid tribute in its own little way. A black ribbon on its home page placed right below its search tab reads “In the memory of Dr APJ Abdul Kalam”, during mouse over. This comes behind UN’s declaration to celebrate the former Indian president’s birthday as “World Students Day”.

This gesture from Google clearly indicates the global acceptance which was synonym with Dr APJ Abdul Kalam’s name. In an illustrious career as a scientist which spanned for almost 4 decades, he was able to inspire rural and urban youths in India as well as abroad. Google has been known to relive historical moment and past icons through its characteristic doodles, haven’t failed to do so with Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam.

The funeral that was held in Rameswaram, Tamil Nadu, at 11 am was attended by prominent dignitaries including the HON’BLE Prime Minister of the nation Narendra Modi.
