India Signs MoU Over the Use of Russian IT Technology for Smart City
India and Russia have inked a Smart City pact this week, which grants cooperation of Russian IT companies with which the Government can avail crucial technological benefits for its Smart City projects. The deal was signed as a result of bilateral talks between the two countries, at the 17th annual bilateral summit in Goa, between Vladimir Putin, the Russian President and Indian Prime Minister Sri. Narendra Modi.

Sources revealed that agreements were signed between JSC Rusinformexport, Russia and Indian ministries of Urban Development and Home affairs along with the National Buildings Construction Corporation and the Haryana government.
Modi and Putin delivered speeches on a wide range of possible bilateral engagement at the Summit. Apart from the Smart City pact, India and Russia had sealed a total number of 15 agreements covering areas across defence to investment and energy.
