IT Giant TCS and SASTRA University Partners to Train Teachers in Emerging Digital Paradigms of Teaching

The Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) had recently joined hands with  SASTRA University (Shanmugha Arts, Science, Technology & Research Academy) in Tamil Nadu to train teachers in the various emerging digital paradigms of teaching.

“Technology is rapidly transforming the education sector with digital technologies increasingly becoming an integral part of the students’ daily lifestyle. By announcing this initiative for teachers in Tamil Nadu on the special occasion of Teacher’s Day, TCS believes that empowering the teachers through this program on Digital learning pedagogies will help enhance the quality of education provided across Tamil Nadu.” Ajoyendra Mukherjee, Executive Vice President and Head of Global Human Resources, TCS said.

The partners have decided to establish a Teacher’s Training Centre at the University with the aim of familiarizing more than 2,000  school teachers from various educational institutes across tier 2 and tier 3 cities in Tamil Nadu with digital-based teaching methods.  The program will also reinforce the value of teaching as a profession.
