Jodhpur: Asaram Bapu accused of sexual assault is listed among 'Country's famous saints' in a Class III book of a school in Jodhpur.
The self-titled godman shares a chapter with Guru Nanak, Kabir, Meerabai, Vivekananda, Mother Teresa, Ramakrishna Paramhans and Shankaracharya.
The moral science curriculum for class III published by a Delhi publisher named the rape accused Bapu as a 'great saint'. A representative of the publishing house said that during the publishing of the books there was no case against Asharam Bapu.
"Now we are withdrawing the books from the market and are preparing a new edition of the book sans Asaram", he said.
The religious leader has been jailed since September 2013. Two months later 73-year-old Bapu and his son Narayan Sai were accused for the rape, sexual assault and illegal confinement of two sisters at their ashram in Gujarat's Surat.
