Spanish-made Talgo successfully completed its trial run covering 84 km in 38 minutes to become India's fastest train surpassing the record held by Gatimaan Express, which can reach a maximum speed of 160 km/hr. Indian Railways conducted the trial on Mathura-Palwal route, this Wednesday.
Prabhash Kumar, Divisional Railway Manager, Agra, pointed out that the train has a light and advanced technology which enabled it to clock a speed of 180 km/hr.
After the success of all trial runs, Talgo will be connecting New Delhi, the national capital of India with the financial capital, Mumbai. The next trial route will be harmonious with that of Mumbai-bound Rajdhani Express starting from Mathura.
