Tuesday October 13, 2015

Chief Minister Harish Rawat distributed computer tablets among high school and intermediate board top scorers at the district and block level among girls.

“Our daughters have the inherent ability to bring about a change in the state, which will further be honed through better educational opportunities, for which all-out efforts are being made,” an official press note quoting chief minister Harish Rawat said.

Highlighting girls’ efforts will help to develop proper skills and get employed.

“Computer tablets being given away to meritorious girls today are a symbolic gift to them so that they make optimum use of the available technology for their benefit in terms of academic excellence and a good career.”, he added.

Rawat also encouraged girls to face challenges in this competitive world.

“We are taking girl education on a mission mode,” he said.

“Along with the mission to make education accessible to girls, a campaign has also been initiated to create awareness about sanitation and hygiene among them,” the CM said, adding that school girls would have to play an important role in the ongoing campaign.

25 lakhs will be contributed by RAWAT towards this campaign.
