Yuvraj Singh’s YouWeCan Invests in EduKart



Cricketer Yuvraj Singh’s initiative to fight cancer, named “YouWeCan” has been recently investing in various ventures. They had invested an undisclosed amount in a logistic tech startup named Moovo. The fund has also partnered with 500 startups and Holostik Group’s United Finsec to invest Rs.6.4 crore in EduKart, the education marketplace.

Ishan Gupta, CEO of EduKart.com, said, “The incoming funds will be utilised for further upgrading the marketplace platform, increasing course portfolio and strengthening marketing efforts.

According to the Industry estimates, the amount spent on the education sector in India is over $60 billion. Around 50% of this amount is invested in higher education sector, 40% in K12 sector and 10% in coaching, skilling and other non-formal areas.

EduKart.com has got established course providers across higher education, K12 and coaching in their list. They include Vidyamandir, Topper, Brilliant Tutorials, Indian School of Business, Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies, Bharati Vidyapeeth University, School Guru and Digital Vidya.

“While on one hand, EduKart helps students and parents make informed education-related decisions, on the other it has given various course providers a platform to expand their reach to Tier two and Tier three cities across India,” Ankit Gupta, head of strategy and investments for Holostik Group said.

EduKart is looking forward to a gross enrolment sales of over $100 million for its course providers, by enrolling over one lakh students annually in the next three years.
