NDA Government to Unviel New Education Policy Soon - Smriti Irani


Human Resource Development minister, Smriti Irani, said that the NDA government will unviel a new education policy before May 26. The minister said this statement in response to a query raised at the India TV conclave.

"Under the new education policy, National Council Of Educational Research And Training (NCERT) will address all those challenges facing the education system and that it needs to address many issues as even students say they know more about renaissance than about Maharana Pratap." she said.

Irani said that the National Education Policy was being prepared after consulting the suggestions recieved from people living in over 1.10 lakh villages & 1,500 municipal bodies and advice has been sought from experts, including education councils.

"The previous government got passed the RTE but failed to make any provision for fees of 25 percent students whom they have provided seat reservation in private schools. We made the required arrangements and have paid for the education of 18 lakh students after checking their records through state governments," she said.
